This document describes how to enable JavaScript in the following browsers:
Internet Explorer, Netscape, AOL, Mozilla, and Opera.

How to Enable JavaScript

For Windows-based Browsers

Internet Explorer 5, 5.5, and 6:
  1. Select Internet Options from the Tools menu.
  2. Click the Security tab.
  3. Select the internet zone for which you would like to adjust javascript settings. (Internet, Local intranet, Trusted sites, or Restricted sites)
  4. Click the Custom Level... button.   The Security settings dialog box will pop up.
  5. Under Scripting category select the "Enable" radio button next to:  Active Scripting, Allow paste options via script, and Scripting of Java applets.
  6. Click OK.  Then click the Yes button in the "Are sure you wish to change the security settings for this zone?" window.
  7. Click OK in the Internet Options dialog box.
  8. Close all open Internet Explorer windows, and then relaunch Internet Explorer.
Internet Explorer 4.0:
  1. Select Internet Options from the View menu.
  2. Click the Security tab.
  3. Click Custom.
  4. Click Settings.
  5. Scroll down to locate Scripting.
  6. Click Enable for Active Scripting.
  7. Click OK, then click the Reload button.
Internet Explorer 3.x:
  1. Select Options from the View menu.
  2. Click Security.
  3. Check Enable Java Programs.
  4. Click OK, then click the Reload button.
Netscape Navigator 6+:
  1. Select Edit from the menu bar and click on Preferences.
  2. Select the Advanced option.
  3. Click on checkbox next to Enable JavaScript for Navigator
  4. Click the OK button.
  5. Close this window, and click the Reload button in the browser's row of icons.
Netscape 4.x:
  1. Select Preferences from the Edit menu.
  2. Click Advanced.
  3. Check Enable JavaScript.
  4. Click OK.
Netscape 3.0:
  1. Select Options from the Edit menu.
  2. Click Network Preferences.
  3. Click Languages.
  4. Check Enable JavaScript.
  5. Click OK.
America Online (AOL):
  1. Select Settings.
  2. Select Preferences.
  3. Select Internet Properties.
  4. Select Custom Level.
  5. Scroll down the Custom Level screen to Scripting.
  6. Enable Active Scripting.
  7. Select Okay.
  8. Select Yes that you want to change the security settings.
  9. Select Okay.
  10. Close the Preference window.
  11. Close this window, and click the Reload button in the browser's row of icons.
AOL 4.0 and 5.0:
  1. Click My AOL.
  2. Click Preferences.
  3. Click WWW.
  4. Click the Security tab.
  5. Click Custom.
  6. Click Settings.
  7. Scroll down to locate Scripting.
  8. Click Enable for Active Scripting.
  9. Click OK, then click the Reload button.
Mozilla:
  1. Select Edit from the menu bar and click on Preferences.
  2. Click on plus sign next to Advanced to show Advanced options.
  3. Click on Scripts & Plugins.
  4. Click on the checkbox next to Navigator under Enable JavaScript for.
  5. Click the OK button.
  6. Close this window, and click the Reload button in the browser's row of icons.
Opera:
  1. Select File from the menu bar and click on Quick preferences.
  2. Click on the checkbox next to Enable JavaScript.
  3. Close this window, and click the Reload button in the browser's row of icons.
Opera 5.0:
  1. Select Preferences from the File menu.
  2. Click Multimedia.
  3. Check Enable JavaScript under Javascript.
  4. Click OK.

For Macintosh-based Browsers

Internet Explorer 5.x:
  1. Select Explorer under OS X or Edit under earlier OSs from the menu bar and click on Preferences....
  2. Click on triangle next to Web Browser to open sub-menu if needed.
  3. Under Active Content, click on checkbox next to Enable Scripting
  4. Click the OK button.
  5. Close this window, and click the Refresh button in the browser's row of icons.
Netscape 7.x:
  1. Select Netscape under OS X or Edit under earlier OSs from the menu bar and click on Preferences....
  2. Click on triangle next to Advanced to open sub-menu if needed.
  3. Click on Scripts & Plugins.
  4. Click on checkbox next to Navigator under Enable JavaScript for.
  5. Click the OK button.
  6. Close this window, and click the Reload button in the browser's row of icons.
Safari:
  1. Select Safari from the menu bar and click on Preferences....
  2. Click on the Security icon.
  3. Click on checkbox next to Enable JavaScript.
  4. Close that window.
  5. Close this window, and click the Reload button in the browser's row of icons.
Mozilla:
  1. Select Mozilla under OS X or Edit under earlier OSs from the menu bar and click on Preferences....
  2. Click on triangle next to Advanced to open sub-menu if needed.
  3. Click on Scripts & Plugins.
  4. Click on checkbox next to Navigator under Enable JavaScript for.
  5. Click the OK button.
  6. Close this window, and click the Reload button in the browser's row of icons.
AOL for Mac OS X:
  1. Select AOL from the menu bar and click on Preferences....
  2. Click on the www icon in the scrolling list on the left side.
  3. Click on the Content tab.
  4. Click on checkbox next to Enable Javascript.
  5. Click the OK button.
  6. Close this window, and click the Reload button in the browser's row of icons.
